What is the shelf life of my products?
ÂN-BALM Radiant Hydra-Balm: 6 months— We recommend using ÂN-BALM frequently once it's been opened.
ÂN-DEW 10% Azelaic Acid + PHA Serum: 6 months— We recommend using ÂN-DEW once or twice daily depending on your skin tolerance.
ÂN-GLOSS Ceramide Lip Treatment: 6 months— We recommend applying ÂN-GLOSS as needed throughout the day.
Are these products pregnancy-safe?
We always recommend to check with your physician prior to use of any products.
Why does my ÂN-BALM look different this time?
Given the distinctive composition, this product may turn liquid during shipping or if exposed to temperatures exceeding 75 °F.
To revert it back to a solid state, simply refrigerate it for around thirty minutes.
Any color variation, crystallization, speckled white patches, or grainy texture you may notice happens when plant butters such as Murumuru partially or completely melt under warmer conditions and then cool too slowly.
This natural phenomenon doesn't compromise the product's quality or effectiveness.
How do I use ÂN-DEW?
This serum plays well with others, meaning you can insert it into your routine without worrying that it will overpower or deactivate other ingredients.
Apply in circular motions to a clean face, neck, and décolleté once daily— working up to twice daily if the skin tolerates it. Amplify visible results by dampening skin and pairing with the ÂN-BALM to seal in maximum benefits. Wear SPF during the day.
Where do I put ÂN-DEW in my skincare routine?
We recommend applying ÂN-DEW as the first serum step after your regular cleansing, toning, and exfoliating (i.e., ZO exfoliating polish) steps.
It can be applied on its own or layered with other serums (i.e., layer serum before retinol). You may apply it to the entire face or use it as a spot treatment. During the day, finish with SPF.
Who could benefit from using ÂN-DEW?
ÂN-DEW is designed to cater to the needs of many skin varieties, making it a versatile addition to any skincare routine.
It may be especially beneficial for reducing the appearance of temporary redness, spots, discoloration, and uneven texture.
How do I know if I should use ÂN-DEW?
Azelaic acid is a safe skincare ingredient with broad compatibility for all skin types and is typically well-tolerated, even by those with hypersensitive skin.
It is considered safe while breastfeeding and pregnant; however, we always recommend consulting your physician as we are not medical providers.
Adverse reactions and side effects to azelaic acid are not common, but as with any skincare ingredient, experiment with applying less often if you experience signs of irritation.
Can I use ÂN-DEW with alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) or salicylic acid (BHA)?
Yes, this combination can be ideal for addressing the appearance of multiple skin concerns, from bumps to uneven skin tone to age-related worries you may be struggling with. The formula uses a low percentage of PHA, so it's suitable for use twice daily if the skin tolerates it.
How does azelaic acid compare to alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) or salicylic acid (BHA)?
Azelaic Acid, AHA, and BHA and share some similarities and interesting differences. When properly formulated, azelaic acid can exfoliate as effectively as glycolic acid and lactic acids (AHAs) but without as much irritation.
On the other hand, azelaic acid offers additional benefits that AHA and BHA ingredients don't provide, especially when it comes to improving a uneven skin tone and skin sensitivity issues.
What is the difference between PHA, AHA, and BHA?
PHA Gluconolactone (PHA) is a chemical exfoliant that improves bumpy and uneven skin tone. It is chemically and functionally similar to AHAs (such as glycolic acid).
A significant difference is that a PHA like Gluconolactone have a larger molecule structure allowing it to conceal its acidic nature from deeper skin layers, rendering it suitable for sensitive skin without hampering its effectiveness or inducing photosensitization.
PHAs can also function as antioxidants and promote improvement in the skin's apparent firmness/tightness.
